How to: Pay your electricity and water bill online in Malta

If you used to pay your bills by going to the post office, you may have been prompted to phone them or do so online. Many opt for phones because they’re not exactly sure how to make the payment online.

This article offers a brief step by step guide on how to take care of your bills online. It’s simple, a time-saver and so much more convenient than making calls or going to the post office.

Head over to Quick Pay

Quick pay definitely lives up to its name – it’s the fastest and easiest option for someone whose considering making the leap to online bill payments.

What you need to do is simply head to the ARMS website, and click on the ‘Services’ tab. Then move your cursor to ‘Quick Pay‘ and click on it.

A 3-step system

As you can see by checking out the ARMS website, paying your bills can be as easy as 1,2,3.

  • Enter your bill details: Your bill details include your account number, invoice number, and the total amount you have to pay as indicated on your ARMS bill.
    i. Your account number is 12 digits starting with ‘411’ or ‘101’. This can be found in the centre of the header of your ARMS energy bill.
    ii. Your invoice number is 8 digits long. This can be found on the left of the account number in the header of your ARMS utility bill. The amount of each invoice is found on the top right-hand corner of every ARMS energy bill.
  • Card details: You will need to enter cardholder name, card number, expiry date and CVV. CVV refers to the last 3 digits on the back of your card.
  • Payment Confirmation: You’ll likely be asked to enter a confirmation code sent via text to your phone. Just open the message (you may have to wait a bit), and then enter the code that’s been sent to you on the confirmation page. Should you not receive it, you’ll have the option to resend the code again, or get the code in a different way.

If you’re still not that confident in using a computer, you can always call your branch and they’ll take care of it for you, they will also instruct you on how to make a payment online if you ask We think it’s the easiest one, but this is just one of the many ways to pay your bills.
