DON’T MISS IT: Malta’s top entertainers are collaborating together to deliver a live-streamed marathon event on the 6th of June!
Artists YouKnighted is a live-streamed marathon event, hosted by the Comedy Knights in collaboration with FTZ Community Foundation on 6 June 2020. Maltese performers will be showcasing elements of their work – a song, a theatre piece, a dance number, a musical montage – any work… that they would like to present to the public from mime to magic to monologues, live from their own home or workspace.
For people working in the entertainment and hospitality industries, social distancing means their jobs, which often require crowds, may still be months away from coming back. But there’s more than one way to deliver entertainment, and a number of celebrities and communities are proving that people are willing to pay for talent both in real life and on a screen. Artists such as Lady Gaga as well as many other celebrities and communities are hosting live shows to gather support and raise funds, with many events finding great success.
We’re happy that local theatre group the Comedy Knights is following these footsteps to support local artists, performers and creators. It’s also a great way to get free, original, local entertainment from the comfort of your home. At the same time, we urge you to support the artists showcased by donating an amount you’re comfortable with. It’ll take everyone’s support to keep local creativity thriving!
50% of all proceeds will go straight to the performers to help them get through this difficult time, whilst the other half of all donations received will be used to create a celebratory live show once social distancing restrictions are lifted. Donations will be received by FTZ Community Foundation a not-for-profit foundation through ticketline.com.mt and will be audited by an independent auditor to ensure that all funds are used appropriately and as promised.
Artists YouKnighted will be produced by The Comedy Knights on 6 June 2020. It will be streamed live on facebook and youtube and other social media platforms.
