We think a line that says “not all colours belong on your facade” is not the greatest method one can use to educate the way Maltese homeowners do up the front of their house.
As we discussed in our article with Ramon Azzopardi Fiott, it all depends on context – how a colour is used, volume, the material underneath, neighbouring houses, architectural style – the factors are many!
But ultimately, nothing guides quite like inspiration, so we’re showcasing some of our favourite photos from instagram to show how all the colours in the crayon box can have a place on our facades – provided they are used right.
Take a look at these pictures of colourful house exteriors in Malta that prove just how the right colour combination can create a result that’s Instagram worthy, celebrates our heritage, and add to our streets a touch of magic.
There’s little that makes us feel prouder than when we get to feature Maltese homeowners who have done something a little bold and a little different with their house.
And on that note, we welcome all photos of doors and facades in Malta that make our eyes a little misty with envy.
